Belgorod National Research University “BelSU” held the event. Scientist of the Russian Academy of science, representatives of the leading Universities, research scientists from Serbia participated in the conference. Current issues of sociological research of the modern religious processes in Russia and foreign countries were discussed.
Viktor Zakharov, acting director of the Institute of Management, opened the conference. He noted the significant of the event. Mirko Blagoevich, co-chairman of the organizing committee, doctor of sociology, professor, head of the Center for religious studies of the Institute for Philosophy and Social Theory of the University of Belgrade, also welcomed the participants.
Paradoxical development trends of the modern world were discussed at the conference. On the one hand, religious movements are rapidly growing, the position of the religious institutes and their influence on social and cultural changes are being strengthened. On the other hand, society, culture and modern people are deconsecrating in all areas of life. Today scientists are trying to find the answer to the questions – how these realities combine together today and how they will interact in the future.
Participants discussed theoretical and methodological problems of religious studies in society, empiric diagnostics of religion in sociology, church government in the system of social and economic solutions.
